Benefit Raises Funds For The Global Water Crisis Through Thirst Relief International
Mike Musick (www.mikemusick.com) joins multi-Grammy winning recording artist Roy “Futureman” Wooten of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and Tracy Silverman of Eclectica, in a benefit concert (www.thirstaidlive.com) at the historic Belcourt Theatre on September 2. All proceeds will go directly to building wells and water sanitation programs throughout the world. The concert begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are available online at www.belcourt.org or by visiting or calling the theater box office at 2102 Belcourt Avenue, 615-383-9140. Admission is only $12.00 (this includes a $1.50 Belcourt Preservation Fee).
Mike Musick is co-founder of Thirst Aid Live® and writes and performs songs that preach about making positive changes on a global level. The Nashville based singer-songwriter’s anthemic debut single “America” has been a powerful launching pad for his overall mission to help alleviate the growing global water crisis.
“America”, which earlier this year reached the Top Ten on FMQB’s AC40 Chart, is featured on Honest, Musick’s third album which was produced by Grammy Award Winner Monroe James (Third Day, Chris Rice) is set for a September release.
Thirst Aid Live® is an educational awareness event about a national crisis and global cause. Water is the most essential element for life and living. You can live days or weeks without food, but unsafe drinking water is a leading cause of death in undeveloped nations. It is estimated that 2 billion people lack access to clean water supplies worldwide and 1 in 5 kids today will die from unsafe water. Presently, in the United States alone, in upwards of 2 billion plastic bottles (many water bottles) end up in landfills. It takes 400 years on average to decompose just one. Thirst Aid Live’s programming is twofold: to raise funds that Thirst Relief International can use to provide safe drinking water opportunities globally, and to provide educational environmental stewardship initiatives locally (nationally).
